Athens, 14 September 2026,
Hellenism in Action and the Société Académique et Professionnelle de la Jeunesse Hellénique en France (SAPJH) announce the launch of their partnership through the signing of a Memorandum of Cooperation placing the new generation of Greeks studying and working in France at its heart.
The partnership is built on a shared belief: gaining experience abroad does not have to mean growing distant from Greece. On the contrary, it can become the starting point for an even stronger and more meaningful relationship with the country.
Through this partnership, Hellenism in Action and SAPJH are creating a lasting bridge between Greece and young Greeks in France, enabling them to remain connected with the country, maintain an active relationship with Greek society and its economy, and find opportunities to participate, contribute, collaborate and, should they choose to do so, return.
The partnership reflects the broader mission of Hellenism in Action and its four initiatives — BrainExplore, BrainExchange, BrainReGain and BrainReConnect — to build bridges between Greece and its people throughout every stage of their academic and professional journey.
Above all, the partnership sends a message of optimism: a new generation of Greeks can be outward-looking and international while remaining meaningfully connected to Greece. Young people who leave to study, work and gain experience abroad do not have to be lost to the Greek ecosystem. They can remain an active part of it, bringing knowledge, ideas, experience and new perspectives.
Konstantinos Kesentes, President of Hellenism in Action, stated:
“Every young Greek who spreads their wings abroad is not someone Greece has lost. They are someone who can gain knowledge, experience and new perspectives while remaining actively connected to the country. Our partnership with SAPJH creates another bridge with young Greeks in France and embodies exactly what we seek to achieve through Hellenism in Action: a Greece that does not fear the mobility of its young people, but stays close to them, gives them reasons to keep their relationship with the country alive and creates the conditions for that relationship to evolve throughout their journey.”
Presidency of the Société Académique et Professionnelle de la Jeunesse Hellénique en France (SAPJH)
Maria Batzoli & Theofanis Kotsonis:
”The new generation of the Greek diaspora, in France and beyond, represents a vibrant and dynamic part of contemporary Hellenism. Young Greeks who pursue their studies, conduct research, innovate, build their careers and distinguish themselves abroad acquire valuable knowledge, skills and experience, while becoming part of international networks whose impact can extend far beyond national borders and create new opportunities for Greek society.
It is within this broader context that the partnership between SAPJH and Hellenism in Action takes on particular significance. At its core lies a shared ambition: to transform the relationship between young members of the diaspora and Greece from one based primarily on emotional ties into a meaningful, creative and reciprocal relationship capable of generating tangible and lasting impact.
Our objective is to build stronger bridges of cooperation, create genuine opportunities for participation and foster an environment in which young Greeks abroad can play an active role in shaping their own future and contributing to the future of the country. Such an approach can enrich public dialogue and help establish the conditions for more Greeks who left during the years of the crisis to consider returning to their homeland.
Ultimately, Greece is stronger when it succeeds in engaging, connecting and inspiring its highly skilled human capital — across the fields of science, research and professional life — wherever in the world it may be.
The Hellenism in Action–SAPJH partnership aims to strengthen this bridge between Greece and France and, through it, contribute to a modern Hellenism that remains connected, outward-looking and present beyond borders”.
