About Us

The Société Académique et Professionnelle de la Jeunesse Hellénique en France (SAPJH) is a newly established non-profit association of the Greek diaspora youth, based in Paris. Founded in 2026 under French association law (loi 1901), the Société emerged following several months of preparatory work, collaborative spirit, and collective effort.

The Société was created by undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral students, as well as young professionals who are academically and professionally active in Paris and across France. Our members, coming from leading French universities and institutions, bring together diverse experiences and perspectives from a wide range of scientific and professional fields. Through this initiative, we seek to establish an organized, outward-looking, and independent network of young Hellenism in France.

Vision

What unites us is manifold: shared aspirations and ambitions, but also common practical and everyday challenges. Above all, we are united by Greece — not merely as a country of origin, but as a point of reference, perspective, and collective action. The central mission of SAPJH is therefore to develop a youth network of Hellenism with both academic and professional characteristics, aiming to strengthen and organize the Greek youth diaspora in Paris and throughout France.

We are building an active network that connects people, ideas, and opportunities, while creating space for the younger generation to grow, collaborate, and innovate. Our ambition is to become a meeting point for the young Greek diaspora, creating meaningful bridges between knowledge and practice, France and Greece, Europe and the wider world, experience and new opportunities. This vision also encompasses the promotion of Hellenism in France, the strengthening of Franco-Hellenic friendship, and the encouragement of proposals for the modernization of the Greek state through international best practices, alongside the promotion of broader European and international issues relevant to young people and contemporary public dialogue.

Activities

Our presence and activities develop both in person and digitally, focusing on academic, scientific, cultural, professional, and broader social fields. We aim to organize conferences, lectures, seminars, workshops, mentoring programmes, and networking events (meet-ups), involving distinguished academics, experts, professionals, and members of civil society. Through these initiatives, we seek to promote the dissemination of knowledge, support professional development, and foster an open and evidence-based public dialogue, always through a youth-oriented perspective.

Alongside our thematic activities, we also place strong emphasis on the practical aspects of everyday life. We aspire to provide guidance and practical support ranging from assistance with housing and employment to navigating French administrative procedures (academic applications, essential documentation, student housing benefits, etc.), as well as facilitating broader social and professional integration into life in France. In other words, we aim to support one another.

Who We Address

The Société is addressed to young people of Greek origin — as well as individuals connected to Greek culture — between the ages of 18 and 35 who study or work in France, with equal focus on Paris and the wider regions of the country. We seek to bring together undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral students from all academic disciplines, alongside researchers and professionals from all sectors, creating a network characterized by meaningful representation, diversity, and dynamism. At the same time, older individuals may participate in an advisory capacity as external contributors and youth mentors, sharing their experience and knowledge with the younger generation.

Principles

The operation of SAPJH is founded upon the principles of equality, collective participation, and active engagement. At the same time, independence constitutes a fundamental principle of our organization: SAPJH operates with full autonomy, without any affiliation or dependence on organizations, institutions, or political parties either in France or in Greece. In this way, we ensure a safe, inclusive, and transparent environment for all our members. Personal views expressed by individual members do not represent the official positions of SAPJH.

The General Assembly constitutes the central decision-making body of the association, ensuring equal voice, participation, and collective co-formation for all members. We also maintain cooperative relations with organizations and institutions of the Greek community and the Greek state in Paris, with the aim of progressively expanding our activities throughout France through partnerships and synergies with civil society actors.
